Community Health Promotion Specialist – Portland, ME
Health and Human Services Department-Public Health Division
Full-Time (37.5 hrs.), Grant-Funded, Project Position
Seeking qualified individual for a full-time (37.5 hours per week), project position working in the Tobacco Prevention Program in the City of Portland’s Public Health Division. This grant-funded position will assist in reducing exposure to tobacco in disparate populations through community education and policy and environmental changes.
Other responsibilities include program planning, implementation, evaluation, distribution of health promotion materials, and community outreach.
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a public health-related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Experience in program implementation, chronic disease prevention, and policy change as well as experience working within a community coalition model is desired. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Salary: $814.88/week, starting pay rate.
