The City of Portland is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, project position assisting with a community-based chronic disease prevention program. This grant funded position will assist in reducing the risk of lead poisoning in young children, and reducing exposure to tobacco in disparate populations through policy and environmental changes that encourage lead dust wipe testing, policy adoption, and community education.
- Other responsibilities include program planning, implementation, evaluation, distribution of health promotion materials, and community outreach.
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a public health related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Experience in program implementation, chronic disease prevention, and policy change as well as experience working within a community coalition model is desired.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
