Mapi wishes to appoint an Epidemiologist in the Real-World Strategy and Analytics (RWS&A) group to assist in observational study proposals and projects, including consultation on study design and analysis, development and review of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, literature reviews, healthcare database studies, data collection instruments, study reports, manuscripts, and other study deliverables. The Epidemiologist will also use their expertise to assist in business development activities to secure new research projects.
This position may be located anywhere globally and worked remote.
Responsibilities include:
Your role will be exciting and varied; you will be involved in a range of responsibilities, including:
- Project delivery: Manage and perform aspects of research tasks as project team member or project manager including:
- Consultation on design and analysis of observational studies including pharmaco-epidemiology, drug safety, outcomes research and health economic studies
- Conducting literature reviews to inform study design, assessment schedules, analytic methods and market access dossiers
- Develop study protocols such as post-authorization safety study protocols for the European Medicines Agency, data collection instruments, study reports and manuscripts
- Provide epidemiologic oversight during study conduct
- Business development: Work together with the Business development team to present Mapi RWS&A services to clients (with senior support); write proposals for projects involving standard methodology (with senior input). Identify new business opportunities and suggest relevant methodologies in a proactive manner.
Qualifying Standards Education:
A PhD or equivalent degree (MA/MSc or MPH with >2 years post-degree experience) in Epidemiology or Bio-Statistics with Epidemiology training.
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years experience in Epidemiological or Pharmacoepidemiological research.
- Industry experience with retrospective (database) studies, literature reviews required – additional work experience with risk management highly preferred.
- Strong computer skills and programming skills in STATA, SAS or SPSS
- Global/International experience is preferred
- Familiarity with epidemiology or safety databases, drug approval regulations and experience in the pharmaceutical industry or regulatory agencies (i.e. EMA, FDA) is preferred
- Publications related to research conducted in in epidemiology or pharmacoepidemiology
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English as well as an established ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High level of organizational and project management skills combined with demonstrated self-motivation, business sense, sound judgement and an analytical approach. Line management experience is a plus
