Description of Practicum Project: This is a long term project, the purpose of which is to determine the available resources for individuals with substance use disorder, as well as their loved ones, specifically among Portland’s low-income, uninsured and/or homeless population.
Tasks:
1. Identify data on the magnitude of the problem in Portland, ME as it relates to Portland’s low-income, homeless and/or uninsured population.
2. Identify resources available for prevention, support, treatment, recovery, and advocacy services.
3. Identify gaps in prevention, support, treatment, recovery, and advocacy services.
4. Propose areas of improvement of service delivery.

- The UNE MPH Program requires a minimum of 120 hours at the practicum site.
