The NH Oral Health Coalition will be adding an afternoon policy Mini-Summit to the upcoming March 4th, oral health continuing education program presented by the NH Dental Hygienists’ Association. This interactive Summit will focus on medical-dental integration within the NH senior and adult population including those served by nursing homes, assisted livings and senior centers. Both institutional and community-based options will be explored. Who should attend? Physicians, nurses, nursing home administrators, staff and consultants, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, hygienists, nursing assistants, program managers, policy makers, legislators, senior center staff, and YOU! Objectives for the policy Mini-Summit include:
- Participants will have an increased understanding of the status and oral health needs of NH’s seniors and institutionalized individuals;
- Participants will be able to identify 3 barriers to consistent, quality oral health care for seniors and institutionalized individuals; and
- Participants will be able to state 3 interventions that can be used to improve oral health care for seniors and institutionalized individuals.
