This position serves as the Director of the Public Health Nutrition Program for the Department of Health in Charlotte County (DOH-Charlotte), and is responsible for all functions related to Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program services consistent with state and federal regulations (DHM 150-24). The incumbent is expected to comply with and ensure staff compliance with all WIC and DOH operating procedures and directives, including information, materials, and equipment security. The incumbent is responsible for administrative activities relating to the WIC program, including budget preparation, mentoring and supervision of staff and collaborating with community partners. Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing work assignments, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. The incumbent must be relied upon to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines while providing excellent customer service. This position reports to the DOH-Charlotte Health Department Administrator.
