The University of New England, in partnership with the Portland Public Library, will be hosting the second annual Community Health Fair on Tuesday, October 3rd from 5-7pm in Rines auditorium in the lower level of the Portland Public Library. The Health Fair is free and open to the public and will provide health education, screenings and outreach. We are pleased to have several local support agencies join us for the event as well to provide valuable information and resources.
Teen Snack Chat: Health Care Career Exploration
Community Health Fair Career Exploration Panel @ 5:00 PM in the Teen Lounge
Students from University of England will be here to discuss the many career opportunities available to students in the health field. Students from the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Pharmacy programs will discuss their experiences, what a “day in the life” is like for various occupations, and answer general questions about the health field.
Pizza has been generously donated from Otto Portland! This program is free and open to teens age 12-19.
Cooking Matters will have Store Tour workshop from 6-7pm. You will learn tips for healthy shopping on a budget. Receive a FREE $10 Hannaford gift card and recipe booklet following interactive workshop. Must be 18+, attend the full 1-hour, and complete brief survey.
Blood pressure, diabetes screenings, and flu shots are free. Flu shots are covered by insurance and VNA will pay for the shots for anyone without insurance. No identification is required unless they have insurance, in which case they’d need to bring their card.
Translation services are available in Arabic, French, Somali and Spanish.
