Description: BSW and GENERALIST Year MSW Students
Elder Abuse Institute of Maine serves older Mainers statewide who are at risk, or victims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Providing client-centered supportive services and transitional housing for older victims of abuse to enable them to leave abusive situations and transition to long term safe housing. Elder Abuse Institute of Maine interns will work directly with clients, caregivers, and/or other support people of the client to support client goals, strengthen already-made service connections, refer to new services, build trusting relationships, work with clients through significant life changes, and assist in the growth of the client's overall well-being.
