Description: The mission of the MIDC is to ensure quality representation for Indigent Defendants in the criminal courts of Maine. Develop and implement a holistic defense plan for Maine Build stakeholder support for a holistic defense pilot project in Cumberland County. Educate government agencies and gain their cooperation in implementing the plan. Student learning opportunities include: program development, program evaluation, advocacy, community organizing, grant-writing, community education, legislative advocacy, and group work.
