Website: https://www.centerforlifemanagement.org/Location: Derry, New Hampshire
Country: United States
Description: Our agency believes that supporting internships through our Acute Care Services programs helps to overcome myths of treating clients with suicidal thinking. Our comprehensive training and supervision will support the student in learning all areas of assessment, treatment, crisis interventions, brief treatment strategies, and crisis planning and risk management. The internship will occur at the agencies office location where they will receive opportunities for face to face interventions, peer and clinician supported services, and crisis phone management. These opportunities are supervised by a LCMHC and/or MLADC whom specializes in acute care services. Interns will learn the skill of being able to work with a diverse population group (age, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status) where they will develop skills of relationship building, motivational interviewing, acute interventions, and crisis planning. Interns will also learn to perform a Crisis Assessment which involves a presenting problem, psychosocial history, treatment planning, diagnostic formulation, use standardized assessment tools, and crisis planning. Throughout the internship students will gain knowledge in appropriate documentation, New Hampshire’s hospital system and behavioral health system, community agencies and other area programs. Interns will also learn regarding evidence-based practices used at the agency and their impact on client’s. Website: https://www.childrenunlimitedinc.org/Location: Conway, New Hampshire
Country: United States
Description: Aiming to fill a huge void in the Mt. Washington Valley for children with special needs, Children Unlimited Inc. opened its doors specializing in early intervention and inclusive childcare on July 1, 1986. It was one of the first programs in New Hampshire to integrate children who are typically developing with children who have special needs.
In October of 1986, the local school district asked Children Unlimited to start a preschool that would also accommodate children with special needs. During the next 22 years, Children Unlimited continued to grow, in size and popularity. On June 7, 2008, Children Unlimited reached its next milestone with the opening of an 8,000 square foot building. Built with funds generously gifted by the community, Children Unlimited could continue its dedication to offering integrated preschool and child care programs, while also launching several new programs intended to support families in the greater Mount Washington Valley.
