Description: The agency is developing a new Partial Hospitalization Program for adults which is schedule to open within the next couple of months (Spring 2023). An adolescent PHP should be opening a month after. This is a high level of care- just below an inpatient setting.Interns in these departments would be offered 1 hr/ week individual supervision as well as 1 hr/day group supervision. Students would work individually with clients to diagnose and treat, as well as be part of a multidisciplinary team. Students would also participate in running groups under the supervision and support of licensed clinicians.
We are also looking for students interested in out-patient individual therapy with children and/or adults. Students would manage a small case load and would receive 1 hr/ week individual supervision as well as 1 hr/wk group supervision.
Students will be encouraged to explore creative ways to engage clients from underserved or marginalized populations in the community.

North River Collaborative (NRC) is a multi-purpose, educational organization formed in 1976 to serve as an extension of school districts. The member districts of Abington, Avon, Bridgewater-Raynham, East Bridgewater, Hanover, Holbrook, Rockland, Stoughton, West Bridgewater, and Whitman-Hanson work together to provide high-quality, cost-effective educational programs and services predominantly to students with disabilities from our member districts and many other surrounding communities. As a collaborative, we have several member districts interested in supporting clinical interns. We have the opportunity to place interns in either an elementary, middle, or high school setting.

Clinical Interns will be cooperatively placed in schools for a minimum of 2.5 days per week (at least 16 hours) and, prior to entering the buildings in September, they will have participated in an orientation that includes training to ensure competency in key areas including mandated reporting (through the Office of the Child Advocate) and verbal de-escalation. Interns will receive weekly clinical on site supervision (from a LICSW) in partnership with their on-site supervisors. In addition, interns will participate in biweekly group supervision. Group supervision is a chance to collaborate with their peers, problem-solve difficult cases and discuss various topics such as documentation, clinical competencies, risk assessment, community mental health, and many other relevant subjects important to learning. In addition, there are monthly guest speakers to support the interns' learning as well as be exposed to various career opportunities.

Clinical Interns carry an individual caseload supporting both special education and general education students, facilitate the majority of psychosocial groups and lunch bunches, create and support push in SEL lessons with teachers and guidance counselors, provide support to many teachers and paraprofessionals in the classroom setting. NRC Clinical Interns become part of the school culture and are invited to all activities that staff/teachers participate in.

Student applicants should have the ability to work independently, Proactive communication skills, Ability to jump in when needed, Comfortable engaging with and building positive relationships across a diverse range of children, families, educators, and staff.
