Midcoast Humane

Location: Brunswick,
Country:
Description: Generalist Year, Traditional Practicum
Can accommodate Fall, Spring, and Summer start dates

Midcoast Humane is an Animal Welfare organization. However, there is a significant connection between animal welfare and human/owner needs and we want to be actively helping the humans find necessary community supports through case management services and connections to community resources related to housing and food insecurity and physical and mental heath. This, in turn helps animals stay with owners and keeps the humans from "falling through the cracks" in finding needed social services.

Student Skills Needed: Ability to work independently, ability to jump in to learning opportunities from the get go, good problem solver, proactive communication skills, skilled at community collaboration (partnering with other local social service agencies to assist clients), supportive of animal welfare needs.
