Description: Program description: The Maine Transplant Program is the only kidney transplant in the state of Maine. The program utilizes a strong multidisciplinary team approach in providing evaluation for transplantation, pre transplant care, transplant surgery, and post-transplant follow up care for life. The program performs approximately 50 transplants each year, a large portion being transplants involving living donors. The Program also participates in two national kidney registries where a donor and recipient who are not compatible for transplant can be matched with others across the country. Population served: Adult and pediatric patients needing kidney transplant; living kidney donors.

Description: Maine Pretrial Services, Inc. (MPS), is a private non-profit agency committed to providing pretrial services, post conviction alternatives, and diversion options throughout the State of Maine. Originally known as the Bail Project, MPS has been in existence for more than thirty-five years.

MPS currently provides pre-arraignment screening and risk assessment, release and supervision, Title 30-A home release programming, reentry planning and community supervision, and case management to all Maine problem solving courts (Adult Drug Treatment Courts, Co-Occurring Disorders and Veterans' Courts, and Family Treatment Drug Courts).

Nearby Bolduc Correctional facility with 170 inmates and Maine Correctional Institute with 90 high maximum security inmates. There is a newly developed health stabilization unit for inmates with major mental illnesses). Work with inmates range from serious mental illness to pre-release work with those preparing to return to society. Anxiety about release, adjustment counseling, parenting groups, substance abuse, sex offender work and smoking cessation groups are some possible opportunities.
