Location: Winooski,
Country:
Description: Generalist or Specialization Opportunities
Summer BLOCK or Traditional
Fall BLOCK or Traditional

DREAM’s goal is to fill the opportunity gap through offering programs and relationships intended to empower youth. We envision a future where every child and teen, regardless of their background, thrives with equitable and sustainable support - breaking systemic barriers. We provide these services to marginalized communities, for youth and families who each have unique backgrounds and lived experiences.

We are able to host paid student internships at our overnight summer camp, summer day camps, and afterschool programs. Through our partnership with Americorps, Interns will receive $750 biweekly, pre tax. Upon completion of dates and total hours, Interns will also receive an education award of $1,956.35 (pre-tax) that can be used towards educational expenses.

These programs operate primarily in an indoor/outdoor environment with active children. Our summer camp is quite rustic and our day camps often take place within the housing communities we serve or in public/field trip spaces in the local area. These positions require comfort working in outdoor environments, regardless of weather. These positions offer the opportunity to see new perspectives and connect with folks of many different backgrounds and lived experiences. The roles involve high levels of teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal communication. Students will grow their adaptability, flexibility, and problem solving skills and will provide youth with magical, memorable, enriching summer experiences!

Student interns will be responsible for supporting the mental, social, and emotional wellbeing of campers throughout the day. Interns do not run activities, but rather float around and are “on-call” to help out with behavior escalations, staff questions, and support youth who are utilizing the rest space. DREAM will provide supervision by a LICSW MSW practitioner for one hour per week.

Our programs are joyfully rambunctious and operate primarily in an indoor/outdoor environment with active children. Our summer camp is quite rustic (minimal electricity and wifi, and no phone reception) and our day camps often take place within the housing communities we serve or in public/field trip spaces in the local area. These positions can be very active and frequently require standing, walking, and working in outdoor environments, regardless of weather.
