Description: Nonprofit organization serving the population of Oxford County and the town of Harrison and Bridgton, providing crisis and support services to victims of sexual assault and their loved ones through crisis and recovery. SAPARS also provides sexual assault awareness, risk reduction and prevention presentations to schools (pre-K to 12th grade) and community organizations and a help line. SAPARS promotes healing and empowerment for people of all genders and ages who are affected by rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, social exploitation, stalking and sexual harassment. Student learning opportunities include: case management, advocacy, community organizing, grant-writing, community education, and group work.

Description: SCEC provides intensive education programs and services to improve the academic achievement of students with low-incidence disabilities in the least restrictive environment. We provide a highly therapeutic setting which supports the social emotional learning and wellbeing of these students in both sub separate classrooms within a public school and fully contained public day settings. We support students ages 3-22. We support districts by providing professional development, related services, assessments, and educational consultation.

As part of the milieu, clinical team members support students’ social emotional well-being by providing individual and group therapy, case management, family outreach and consultation, staff training, clinical assessment, risk assessment, intakes, treatment planning, crisis management and assessment, self advocacy, and social and life skill training. Clinical group, individual, and peer supervision is utilized as part of reflective practice strategies. Candidates should be willing to work in a fast paced classroom environment with multiple age groups and students who present with various social, emotional, and learning challenges. This is a twelve month educational program and clinical support to students is provided through the summer months as well. Therefore projected candidates are not required to follow a school year calendar and can begin field work at various times throughout the year. Both generalist and specialist field placements can be supported in this environment.

Description: The Children’s Center began providing family support services in Skowhegan in 2011. Based on feedback from the community, the center expanded the location in 2013 to include an autism program, behavior, support program, and special education services as well as the continuation of targeted case management and caregiver education series. The Children’s Center in Skowhegan is an early intervention and preschool education setting. Each classroom focuses upon all areas of development: cognitive, language, communication, fine and large motor, activities of daily living, emotional growth, and sensory play. Children will learn through daily developmentally appropriate opportunities to explore, create, manipulate, and experiment. Progress will be monitored through daily observation and data collection to ensure each child’s success. Additional Location in Augusta.
